TITLE
The Impact of Sound on Urban Perception (Altering Soundtrack of Influence Spatial Experience)
MAIN CONTENT
This project aims to explore the relationship between sound, space, and perception. When people enter a space, visual information primarily triggers emotions, while sound also significantly influences perception. I will explore the connections between sound and space and their transformative potential, visualising sound through sound graphics and exploring spatial audio representation.
Additionally, we cannot escape the spaces and soundscapes within urban environments. Therefore, I am considering how to create a device or audio that enhances perception by adjusting sound elements. Ultimately, by changing the characteristics and forms of sound, we will reshape our feelings and understanding of space.

PROCESS
First, I will explore the sounds of different areas in Hackney Wick and record the various spatial sounds. Through interventions, I will transform these sounds into sound graphics. Based on this, I will construct the sound graphics for the entire site and create audio based on the collected sounds. Finally, I will produce a large model and explore the relationship between perception and spatial sound during the site practice.

REFLECTIONS
This site practice allowed me to explore the connection between graphics and sound. While explanations can help people understand, I still need to further explore how to simplify this process.
In terms of perception, because each person's perception is subjective and unique, I guided them to realize that the installations deepened their impressions of the environment, while sound could influence their original perceptions.
Overall, this experience has deepened my understanding of the importance of sound in shaping our perception and interaction with space.
